As I’m sure you’ve heard from your child, “we played a game in speech today!”. While lots of fun, there are so many ways to use games to target your child’s goals. Have your child say 10 of his articulation sounds before he takes a turn. Have your child use longer sentences to say what’s going on in the game, “I want to open the four red apples”. Practice turn taking and social/pragmatic skills, like compromising on which game to play, guess what their friend will find funny in Apples to Apples, and being a gracious winner and loser.
