What is educational consultancy and advocacy?

Our educational consultants provide guidance to parents and schools on educational topics. We also advocate for students to get the learning support services they need to thrive and access the educational experience they deserve. 

In this capacity, The Loop consults with school administration about support services, classroom accommodations and modifications, and educational planning. 

We also help school administrators develop school-wide systems to improve their processes and revise their screening protocols. This helps schools better identify students with extra needs, who may benefit from our educational support services. 

In action, our educational consultants have spearheaded initiatives including—

• Collaborating with school staff to design a customized middle-school executive function program 

• Streamlining data-collection and paperwork for schools to get their students the support services they need 

• Submitting IEP and 504 plan cases to Chicago Public Schools on behalf of our school partners

In addition to helping Chicago schools give their students the supports and systems they need, The Loop also helps parents.

• We communicate with your school’s staff about your child’s learning profile 

• We make sure your child receives the accommodations and modifications they need in the classroom

• We attend education meetings

• We develop and implement behavioral plans

The Loop is a Chicago Public Schools Vendor. What does this mean for you?

Being a Chicago Public Schools Vendor allows us to submit paperwork for you or on behalf of your child’s school to apply for and renew your child’s IEP or 504 plan. 

This also allows us to provide direct learning support approved by your child’s IEP service plan at their private school and be reimbursed directly by CPS.
