Mariam Abutaleb is a Licensed Learning and Behavior Specialist (LBS1) with a Bachelor's in Special Education and Master's in Education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

Mariam has over 10 years of experience working with people with disabilities; from coaching to case management and teaching, Mariam leverage's her students' skills and strengths to reach measurable academic goals. In addition to her experience teaching K-12 Sciences, Reading and Language Arts, Mariam is trained in intervention approaches such as the Orton-Gillingham and familiar with the e-learning programs used in the district.

After living in Urbana for seven years, Mariam is back in Chicago with her friends and family. When she is not with them or teaching, you can find her outdoors with a book. She has a contagious love for reading that students can appreciate.
